Rebecca Berlin

Radio

Rebecca is currently a freelance announcer and audio engineer for WAMU 88.5 FM in Washington, DC.  She is most often heard during Saturday's wee small hours, Sundays just after dawn, or any other time the usual hosts need a day off.

Rebecca joined WAMU in May 2002 as a Programming Assistant, writing and distributing promos and PSAs, helping to produce the daily program log, and responding to listeners' emails.  Rebecca has worn a number of other hats at WAMU: lending her voice to promos and underwriting spots, engineering for The Kojo Nnamdi Show, screening phone calls for The Diane Rehm Show, and acting as local host on weekends and overnights.

Before relocating to Our Nation's Capital, Rebecca lived in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where she was the first Berkshire Bureau Chief for WAMC Northeast Public Radio.  As a reporter, she produced daily stories for the station's Midday Magazine, and contributed to five nationally distributed public radio programs:  51%, The Best of Our Knowledge, The Law Show, The Health Show, and The Environment Show.  Rebecca was an intern for WAMC's National Productions in the summer before her junior year in college.

While a freshman at SUNY Oswego, Rebecca became an announcer/audio engineer for WRVO, the professionally-run NPR member station based on the school’s campus.  Rebecca later spent a semester as the station’s Production Intern, and became WRVO’s Traffic Manager by her senior year.
